'Pleth'

'Pleth' is a captivating non-verbal puppet show designed to transport audiences from the digital world into the heart of a rare temperate rainforest in West Wales. The narrative begins with a contemporary crisis: a sudden mobile network failure, leading to a loss of communication and initial panic. However, this stillness allows for a shift in perception, revealing the magical stirrings of nature.

Audiences are invited to immerse themselves in a vibrant landscape populated by native fungi, insects, birds, and mammals, where the inherent rhythms of nature connect everything. The show highlights the vast networks of mycelium beneath ancient trees, quietly communicating. 'Pleth' ingeniously combines movement, puppetry, live foley sound, visual storytelling, and an evocative use of British Sign Language (BSL) to create a rich, immersive world where the delicate balance of the forest comes to life.

The production explores the tension between the urge to reconnect with technology and a deeper, older rhythm that encourages observation and listening. As it is non-verbal, it is suitable for all ages. Following the performance, pre-booked attendees have the opportunity to participate in a free, playful physical theatre workshop, exploring themes of interconnectedness, mycelium networks, and humanity's relationship with the natural world beyond screens.
