Feria de Málaga 2026

The Feria de Málaga 2026 officially kicks off on Friday, August 14, with a Historical Parade (Cabalgata Histórica) starting from Plaza de la Merced, featuring over 200 participants in period costumes recreating the city's past. The opening night culminates with a spectacular drone light show over Málaga Port, followed by a large pyromusical fireworks display at midnight. The festival's monumental lighting is officially switched on on Saturday, August 15, marking the full commencement of the week-long festivities. This day also includes a traditional pilgrimage to the Basilica de Santa María de la Victoria, where the city's flag is offered to the patron saint.

During the day, the historic city center hosts numerous activities. Calle Larios features a new decorative entrance arch inspired by local icons, alongside a permanent stage for popular Malagueño folklore and Verdiales performances. Public squares like Plaza de la Constitución, Las Flores, del Obispo, and San Pedro Alcántara offer daily musical performances by local artists. For flamenco enthusiasts, Peña Juan Breva provides daily recitals of cante, guitarra, and flamenco. Children are catered for at the 30th edition of the Feria Mágica in Plaza de la Merced, running from August 16 to 22, with a space-themed program of games, workshops, theater, puppets, and magic.

As evening approaches, the celebration shifts to the Real Cortijo de Torres fairgrounds. This expansive venue houses over 100 marquees (casetas) and numerous fairground rides, providing a vibrant atmosphere with live music, flamenco, copla, and equestrian displays. Major concerts are held at the Municipal Auditorium throughout the week. Wednesday, August 19, holds particular significance as a local holiday in Málaga, commemorating the historical entry of the Catholic Monarchs into the city in 1487, with related historical events taking place in the center.
