Faneromeni26 Arts Festival

The Faneromeni26 Arts Festival continues its summer programming with the performance 'TRACKS: Echo of Now, Rhythm of Yesterday' in the courtyard of the Bank of Cyprus Cultural Foundation. The project serves as an artistic mapping of a journey that began with spontaneous freestyle rap circles in Faneromeni Square in 2016. It focuses on transforming the Cypriot dialect from an everyday idiom into a medium for contemporary poetry and music.

The performance creates a dialogue between street culture and historical memory by combining electronic sounds with acoustic instruments like the clarinet, drums, and guitar. Spoken word and narration are central to the experience, bridging oral traditions with modern hip-hop influences. This collaboration involves a diverse team of musicians, poets, and technicians led by curator Tasos Lamnisos.

Enhancing the auditory experience are real-time visual projections that utilize digitally processed images from the foundation’s own Cypriot collections. These visuals transform the venue into a multisensory environment where modern artistic voices interact with historical artifacts. The event is scheduled for the evening of July 30 with free admission for the public.
