Chile military parade

Held annually on September 19, the military parade is a cornerstone of Chile's national celebrations, specifically commemorating the 'Día de las Glorias del Ejército' (Army Day). The ceremony takes place at O'Higgins Park in the capital city and is typically presided over by the national president. It serves as a public showcase for the various branches of the armed forces, including the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Carabineros, as well as other security institutions.

The 111th edition of the parade featured a march involving more than 10,000 personnel, including the first-time participation of the Gendarmerie. The three-hour ceremony is notable for its significant aerial component, which often includes a flyover of approximately 60 aircraft. Beyond the troops, the parade has showcased heavy engineering machinery from the Army's Military Labour Corps to mark historical milestones like the 50th anniversary of the Carretera Austral.

Formal proceedings during the event include the presentation of the Medal of Valor to military personnel for distinguished service. The parade remains a major public-facing event in Santiago, drawing significant attention to the country's defense and security capabilities.
