A primary focus of the festival is pheasant hunting, involving the release of 2,500 Chinese Ring-necked Pheasant roosters into 40 distinct sites within Stettler County. Hunters can secure draws for 160 shooting sessions throughout the weekend, with each session accommodating four shooters and two dog handlers. Participants are allowed to take up to eight birds during a half-day session.

In addition to the hunting, the festival includes key social gatherings. A new Friday night social is planned at Hackers Lounge, which will feature a shotgun raffle. The returning Saturday night banquet will be held at the Stettler Community Hall and will include a silent auction and another shotgun raffle. The festival also incorporates conservation efforts by releasing 300 to 400 hens after the hunt, aiming to support the natural population buildup of local birds.
