Golden City Days

Golden City Days is an annual fall festival held in Rossland, British Columbia, celebrating community pride and the change of seasons. Taking place from Thursday, September 10, to Sunday, September 13, the event features a wide array of activities for all ages, culminating in a weekend of festivities that includes a parade and the annual fall fair.

The festival kicks off on Thursday, September 10, with the Mofab tee-ball tournament at Centennial Park, which continues throughout the weekend. Friday, September 11, brings the Golden City Ho Down, a turn-of-the-20th-century costume contest with live music at Rossland Beer Co., starting at 5 p.m. Later that evening, a free family dance party with vendors, music, and games is held at the fairgrounds by the Rossland Arena from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Saturday, September 12, is packed with events, beginning with the annual Pancake Breakfast served by local firefighters at the firehall. Madhu Studio offers a yoga class at Esling Park, and the Rossland Museum organizes a full day of activities. A major highlight is the Golden City Days Parade, which stages on Jubilee St. and tours Rossland before ending at the arena. Following the parade, the Fall Fair at the Rossland Arena offers live entertainment, vendors, and kids' activities like 'Stake Your Claim' and 'Imagination Station,' alongside an air band contest and carnival games.

The festival concludes on Sunday, September 13, with the return of the Golden City Days Grind and Fun Run, starting at 9 a.m. from the Centennial Trailhead parking lot. In the afternoon, the West Kootenay Toy Run rides down Columbia Avenue at 2:30 p.m., with donations for the Toy Run accepted at the Rossland Eagles from noon until 2 p.m.
