Cornfest

Taber Cornfest is a long-standing annual festival in the Town of Taber, Alberta, celebrating local community spirit. The 2026 event is scheduled to take place from Thursday, August 27, through Saturday, August 29. The festival grounds at Confederation Park will host an expanded midway and various community fundraisers, making it a central hub for entertainment and social gathering in the region.

The festival kicks off on Thursday with a community BBQ and the Cornfest Parade, which features a new route for the 2026 season. On Saturday, the schedule includes a "Show and Shine" car show and a Fun Run through the town. Throughout the weekend, the Taber Food Bank Society operates a major 50/50 raffle and Plinko games to support local food security, with the grand prize draw held on the main Cornfest stage.

Logistics for the event include significant road closures in the downtown area to accommodate the parade and pedestrian traffic. Organizers encourage visitors to use designated parking areas or walk to the festival grounds due to the increased size of the 2026 midway. The event concludes with a volunteer-led recycling effort to sort materials collected throughout the festivities.
