Wienerfest

Wienerfest is a long-standing annual gathering in Burford, Ontario, that celebrates the dachshund breed. Held at the Burford Fairgrounds, the weekend-long festival typically brings together approximately 2,000 attendees and their pets. The event is characterized by its lighthearted atmosphere, often featuring the festival's founder in an inflatable dog costume and attracting visitors from several hours away.

Key attractions include photo sessions with the Oscar Mayer wienermobile and appearances by celebrity dachshunds known from television commercials. Beyond the festivities, the event plays a critical role in animal welfare; proceeds are used to fund local rescues and provide financial support for specialized medical procedures for abandoned or injured dogs.
