Community Accessibility Fair

This free event takes place at the Jump Start Playground adjacent to the Alfred Jenkins Field House. It serves as the city’s third Public Accessibility Feedback Group meeting, moving the consultation process to an outdoor, community-focused environment. The day begins with an inclusive playground program for children with disabilities, followed by a feedback meeting where attendees can identify barriers related to transit, infrastructure, and digital city services.

In the afternoon, the fair hosts various community groups and organizations that support individuals with disabilities. A notable participant is the Canadian National Institute for the Blind, which plans to demonstrate accessible devices via its Mobile Technology Hub. A community barbecue operated by the West Flat Community Group will also be available to attendees.

The gathering is a central component of Prince Albert’s Accessibility Plan for 2026–2030. By combining a formal public meeting with a social fair, city officials aim to reach a broader demographic, including families and those who might not attend traditional municipal sessions, to better understand local accessibility needs.
