Chilliwack Mural Festival

The 7th annual Chilliwack Mural Festival is a multi-day arts event organized by the Chilliwack Arts Council, showcasing the work of emerging and established muralists. In 2026, the festival featured 11 artists from five different countries who added 12 new pieces to the city’s collection, which now totals over 50 murals. These large-scale works are located throughout downtown Chilliwack, including historic areas like District 1881, the Central Village, and Main Street, often focusing on themes such as Indigenous heritage, social justice, and the natural world.

Beyond the mural creation, the festival offers free one-hour guided walking tours that share the history of the community and the inspiration behind the artwork. The celebration includes a major street party, typically held on the Saturday of the festival weekend, featuring live music on multiple stages, food trucks, an art market, and a beverage garden. Interactive activities like graffiti walls and mural cubes allow the public to engage directly with the creative process. The event concludes with a 19+ after-party, making it a comprehensive community celebration of local and global creativity.
