Land of Immortality exhibition

The "Land of Immortality" exhibition is staged at the Brest Hero Fortress Memorial Complex to mark 55 years since the memorial's official opening on the citadel grounds. This special event utilizes items from the complex's own collections to highlight the site's legacy, which has become a significant historical landmark in Belarus since its establishment in 1971.

The display includes five thematic panels alongside portraits of the individuals who defended the fortress. Visitors can examine books and official records that chronicle the 1941 defense, providing insight into the lives of servicemen and their families during the initial stages of the conflict. The exhibition also emphasizes the research of writer Sergei Smirnov, whose work was instrumental in uncovering the history of the citadel's defenders.

Additionally, the showcase presents archival information on the architectural development of the memorial complex itself, including details on the selection of its design and the creators involved. Located in the Brest Oblast, the exhibition provides a comprehensive look at both the wartime history and the ongoing preservation of the site's cultural heritage.
