Date Palm Tree Festival

The seventh edition of the Date Palm Tree Festival takes place at the Farmers Market in Howrat A'ali, celebrating Bahrain's long-standing reputation as the 'land of a million palm trees.' The event serves as a platform for local farmers and small businesses to showcase more than 100 varieties of dates, including the popular Khalas and sweet Khanaizi types. It also highlights the work of productive families who offer unique items such as date pickles, date pit coffee, and specialized halwa.

In addition to the market, the festival focuses on cultural heritage with a dedicated museum displaying objects made from palm fronds, such as furniture and traditional fish traps. Visitors can observe artisans practicing ancient crafts like pottery and basket weaving, while children can participate in educational activities regarding historical vocations. The venue includes an indoor space with approximately 50 stalls and a dedicated area for traditional Bahraini breakfasts.
