Japan Festival 2026

The Japan Festival 2026 took place on a single day, September 18, 2026, marking its return to Bangladesh after a seven-year hiatus. Organized by the Embassy of Japan in Bangladesh in cooperation with the Ministry of Cultural Affairs and Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the event offered visitors a diverse immersion into Japanese culture.

The festival's stage program featured an introduction to Kabuki, a Nihonbuyo performance (traditional Japanese dance), and demonstrations of martial arts such as Karate and Kendo. The Japanese singer duo Bajna Beat also performed, engaging in a special musical presentation with Bangladeshi artists to celebrate cultural exchange. The stage events concluded with a performance of Kabuki Shishi by Japanese dancer Senju Einojo.

Beyond the stage, the festival included cultural exhibition stands and interactive activities. Attendees had the opportunity to experience Sado, the traditional Japanese tea ceremony, and view displays of Bonsai and Ikebana. Japanese cuisine, prepared by a chef from the Embassy's official residence, was served to visitors, further enhancing the cultural experience. Additionally, students could consult an adviser about study-abroad opportunities in Japan.
