Under the Light of the Stars

The “Under the Light of the Stars” program is a comprehensive nationwide celebration of Azerbaijan National Cinema Day, running from July 31 to August 7. Organized by the Azerbaijan Cinema Agency, the event aims to bring the country's rich cinematic heritage to audiences across Azerbaijan.

Festivities commence on July 31 at the Nizami Cinema Center in Baku with a special gala. This opening event will honor outstanding film industry professionals for their annual achievements and host premiere presentations of newly produced Azerbaijani films. On August 1, celebrations move to the historic Azerbaijanfilm Studio, where guests can enjoy guided tours, observe live film productions, and experience a visual arts program with a DJ performance. The day concludes with open-air screenings of beloved classics such as "The Groom's Kidnapping" and "The Day Passed."

Beyond Baku, the program extends throughout the week with screenings of both classic and contemporary national films at various cinemas, cultural centers, and outdoor venues across Azerbaijan. Additionally, national television broadcasters and local streaming platforms will dedicate a special week to Azerbaijani cinema. A notable highlight is the KinoBox streaming platform, offering free access to a selection of classic Azerbaijani films from August 1 to 7, allowing viewers nationwide to enjoy timeless masterpieces from home.
