Highlights

Features makers, growers, bakers, and food vans
Supports local businesses and community groups
Contributes to the Whitsundays Chamber Community Fund

For many stallholders, the Proserpine Community Market serves as an important venue for doing business, allowing them to start, test ideas, and reach new customers. Makers, growers, home-based businesses, and food vendors can engage directly with customers, build their brand, and generate income without the overheads associated with traditional retail spaces.

Both the Proserpine Community Market and the Airlie Beach Cruise Ship Markets contribute to the Whitsundays Chamber Community Fund. This fund offers grants to eligible local not-for-profits, community groups, and volunteer organizations.

The market was founded over five years ago by Tarnia Patton with a focus on being run by locals, for locals, a local character that persists today. Tarnia Patton continues as the on-site Market Manager, with the Whitsundays Chamber of Commerce and Industry providing back-office support.
