The Massed Choir Festival, established in 1994 by primary music teachers, is the largest choral festival of its kind in Western Australia. The 2026 event marks its 33rd year, dedicated to celebrating excellence in primary choral music. It brings together 5,000 students from years 4 to 6 across 99 public schools from Perth metro and regional Western Australia.

The festival runs for nine days, with students performing in massed choirs over seven distinct nights. Each choir comprises 700 voices, and performances are enhanced by a guest choir, a string quartet, and a professional band. A highlight for this year is the world premiere of a new humorous musical piece by composer Mark Puddy, titled 'The Wars of the West,' which is inspired by the 1932 Great Emu War.
