Event summary

Highlights

  • Attempt to break the Guinness World Record for most concerts in 12 hours
  • 15-minute performance at The Donnybrook in Lithgow
  • Fundraising event for mental health charity Beyond Blue
  • Route covering nine cities across New South Wales and the ACT
Sydney-based musical duo Fathom, featuring members Cate Guirguis and Jaxon Italiano, is embarking on a high-speed musical challenge to set a new Guinness World Record. The duo aims to perform nine concerts in just 12 hours, which would surpass the current record of eight performances held by a UK artist. The attempt follows strict guidelines requiring each venue to be located in an area with a population of at least 15,000 and situated more than 50 kilometers apart.

The Lithgow leg of the tour represents the sixth stop on a route that begins in Singleton and concludes in Canberra. At 5:45 PM, the duo will perform a brief 15-minute set at The Donnybrook. Other stops on the itinerary include Newcastle, Gosford, Sydney, Penrith, Bathurst, and Goulburn. Local support acts are expected to join the tour at various locations, including the Sydney and Canberra performances.

This event also serves as a major fundraiser for mental health, with 50 percent of ticket sales being donated to Beyond Blue. To satisfy record-breaking requirements without a traveling adjudicator, the entire 12-hour attempt will be filmed and livestreamed, verified by rotating independent witnesses. The final evidence will be submitted to Guinness World Records for official assessment following the tour.
