Charolais World Congress

The 2026 Charolais World Congress marks the return of this global livestock event to Australian shores after a 34-year hiatus. The congress serves as a networking platform for international delegates to observe the functionality of Australian-bred Charolais cattle within local pastoral systems. Approximately 110 participants from countries including France, Canada, Mexico, Estonia, and New Zealand are expected to attend the biennial gathering.

The event commences at the Brisbane Showgrounds, coinciding with the judging weekend of the Ekka (Royal Queensland Show), where Charolais is the featured breed. A primary highlight during the Brisbane segment is the Charolais Society of Australia Gala Dinner, which incorporates the Charolais National Sale. This opening leg focus on breed standards and industry success within the Australian environment.

Following the Brisbane program, the congress transitions into an extensive regional road trip. The itinerary includes stops in Toowoomba, Roma, Warwick, Armidale, and Tamworth, featuring multiple on-farm visits to various Charolais studs. The event concludes in Sydney on August 17, after which some delegates may participate in an optional five-day post-tour through Victoria. The program is designed to balance professional cattle evaluations with regional tourism and cultural exchange.
