Cyprus European Researchers’ Night

The Cyprus European Researchers’ Night will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the Cyprus State Fair grounds in Nicosia. This annual event, organized by the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) in collaboration with the country’s research and innovation ecosystem since 2006, is Cyprus’ largest dedicated to showcasing research, innovation, and science. It provides an opportunity for the public, including children and families, to engage directly with researchers, scientists, academics, and innovative entrepreneurs.

The 2026 event operates under the theme “CELEBRATE 2.0 – Two Decades of STEAM-Powered Inspiration,” highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration by combining science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. Visitors can explore more than 75 stands and participate in over 80 interactive activities. These include scientific experiments, demonstrations, workshops, games, quizzes, simulations, presentations, and competitions, all designed to make knowledge an engaging and entertaining experience.

A particular emphasis is placed on inspiring the younger generation, with specific activities for pupils, teachers, and researchers planned throughout the school year. These include the Science Unfold 2026 science communication competition, the Artistic Creation Activity for 2026-2027, and the Researchers in Schools program for 2026-2027. Science Unfold 2026, themed “STEAMing Through Time! How research and innovation changed our world,” invites pupils to creatively present scientific inventions. The event is held under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Cyprus.
