Nazrul Borsho

Nazrul Borsho is a year-long national observance in the People's Republic of Bangladesh, dedicated to celebrating the life and extensive legacy of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam. Also known as Nazrul Year, the event runs from May 25, 2026, to May 25, 2027, marking his 127th birth anniversary. The observance aims to showcase the poet's revolutionary literary, musical, and cultural contributions through a diverse array of programs across the country.

Kazi Nazrul Islam, famously known as the "Bidrohi Kobi" or rebel poet, was born in 1899. His works passionately championed freedom, equality, and resistance against oppression and communalism, significantly influencing Bengal's cultural and political landscape during the Indian freedom movement. The year-long celebration features various activities, including classical music performances, folk art exhibitions, heritage conservation initiatives, and academic conferences.
