Organized by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) in cooperation with Kalba City Municipality, the Jashe and Sahnah Festival is launched for the first time in Kalba, located in Sharjah's Eastern Region. The festival aims to preserve and promote the UAE's maritime heritage while transforming traditional practices into modern economic products.

The event highlights specific culinary traditions, including "Jashe" (sun-dried fish) and "Sahnah" (a condiment made from dried fish and spices). A marketplace features fishing equipment, fish processing companies, and products from over 65 local productive families and home-based businesses. Six government and community entities, such as the Sharjah Fish Resources Authority and Sharjah Institute for Heritage, also participate to support the cultural and economic objectives.

Visitors can engage in various educational programs, including workshops on marine sustainability, responsible fishing techniques, and demonstrations of catching and drying Al Ouma fish. The festival also features live demonstrations of Sahnah preparation using a traditional mortar and pestle (Minhaz), along with maritime competitions and dedicated boat displays.
