This year's overall winner, Sphumelele Zondi (26), is recognized for her mixed-media work, "The laundry of a nation," which explores themes of emotional and social inheritance. Sive Ntombana (23) received the runner-up award for her practice-based research project, "Umlandeli," focusing on trauma in the Xhosa rural Eastern Cape. The exhibition also highlights five Merit Award-winning artists: Charlie de Bruto, Inga Lokwe, Wisani Manyisi, Thomas Masingi, and Charné Mungur, each presenting unique works across various media.
In addition to the current finalists, the exhibition includes a solo show by the 2025 Sasol New Signatures winner, Juandré van Eck, titled "Die Vallei van Adem." The Sasol New Signatures Visual Arts Competition, founded 60 years ago by the Association of Arts Pretoria, continues to be a significant platform for emerging South African artists. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 5pm, with entry fees ranging from R7 to R30 per person.
